This is a completely customized kissing Navy Chief and nurse wedding cake topper ordered by one of our customers.

My name is Marlena originally from New Mexico and my groom is Oscar originally from California. I mention where we are from because although we are from the same coast our paths actually did not cross until life led us both to the East coast. I am a nurse, (almost nurse practitioner) and moved to DC to start as a new graduate at Georgetown University Hospital in 2006. After three years I ventured out and landed at Bethesda Naval Hospital, where everyone assured me jokingly that I would find a fine Navy man! Low and behold, enters Oscar, a navy corpsman that was responsible for all emergency room x rays. According to him I ignored him for months, according to me I was keeping it professional ;) Two years later and here we are getting married, to my Navy man! He is currently going through Chief induction which is one of if not the biggest moment in a person’s Navy career and I am so proud of him. I would love to represent that in a kissing Navy Chief and nurse cake topper, reminiscent of the iconic WWII sailor/nurse picture (except in his chief dress blues).
We think the classical WWII sailor/nurse pose is kinda weird with the sailor’s left arm, so we changed it a little bit to have his left hand holding the bride’s head. The groom is wearing his new chief dress blues with a white cover (hat). The suit is black despite being called blues. The details on his left sleeve are quite important because they indicate his rank and number of years in the Navy. Also the NNMC seal is added on the base to reflect the hospital where they met.
