This is a completely customized martial arts artists wedding cake topper ordered by one of our customers.

They are both martial artists (though not MMA fighters). So they would like to customize a martial artists theme wedding cake topper, similar to our MMA fighter wedding cake topper, but a little different. They would like to conceptualize the cake topper with some combination of wedding clothes and martial arts gears - standing on a mat and not in an octagon. They don’t like classical standing side by side pose, instead they prefer the bride and groom figurine to be in a guarding stance facing out with hands up by their faces, in fists. The back foot heel is off the ground (this will help them not get ridiculed by the other martial artists at their wedding). However the connotation of this martial arts cake topper is far more than its appearance, what to know more relative information about this topper? Thanks Angela and Mike for sharing their story.

Mike and I met online. After some weeks of chatting, we realized we lived about a block away from each other. We actually ended up physically meeting on Christmas Eve. We became close very quickly and I learned that he was heavily into martial arts. He tested for his first degree black belt about 6 months after we met. He was tattooed with the Japanese symbols for his martial art on his arm. His friends at the school would always ask if his girlfriends "understood" what he did and his dedication. Of course I did -- and soon was friendly with all of his friends at the school, including the main instructor. I would always be around - hanging out, watching black belt test promotions and somewhere along the way, I became interested in actually learning and doing it. It's not something I would have even dreamed I could have done. I never thought that I was athletically inclined. Soon enough, I realized I was very invested in learning the proper way to do things and was working out hard as much as I could. Martial arts brought out qualities in me I never knew I had. Mike helped me all along the way, we worked out together often. He, of course, continued training as well, and tested for his second degree about a year and a half ago. Last week, I even tested for my first degree black belt. Our main instructor used the public portion of my test to amuse everyone by having me take Mike down multiple times and even spar. His introduction was, "at least now you know that you'll never need counseling, you could just do this."
