This is a completely customized roasting marshmallows over campfire camping wedding cake topper ordered by one of our customers.
No matter how hard we try, we still can’t describe every detail of this topper. So we post their story and idea directly here, we believe you can figure out the true love in it. Thanks Rachael for sharing their great story and idea. Here it is.
My name is Rachael, my fiance, Michael and I are getting married June 9th, 2012! Our wedding is shaping up to be one heck of a party and some things we really wanted to express to our guests are the things that make us the couple we are, we love the outdoors! He proposed to me while on a camping trip (to see Rascal Flatts). We've noticed that it's difficult to incorporate tons of ideas and interests into a wedding decor without it ending up looking tacky, so we decided to keep our decorations relatively simple and classy, and use little ways like escort cards, a few favors and our cake topper to express our personalities. That being said, let me tell you a little about us...
Michael and I met back in high school, we started dating when we were 15 and have been together for 10 and half years! Like any relationship, we've had our ups and downs, but we always knew each other was "the one" (as cheesy as that may sound). We love the outdoors, beach in the summer, ski/snowboarding in the winter and we go camping no matter what the weather or time of year!! We attended WVU in college (Go Mountaineers!!!) and currently live in West Virginia. This past summer during our annual "Rascal Flatts camping trip", we went to go see them in concert, when they started to play "God bless the Broken Road", Michael started dancing with me, spun me around and got down on one knee in front of hundreds of people and asked me to marry him! Of course I said YES and the next part of our story began!... The wedding planning!
I have been searching tons of websites trying to find the "right" cake topper for us, and none of them have come close. One of the ideas I've had in mind are Michael (in a tux) and Me (in my dress) either sitting in WVU camping chairs, while roasting marshmallows over a campfire.
After enjoying their story, you will find out why we made this design. In the first sketch, we even designed a snowboard to match their ski/snowboarding hobby. But then remove it in the later revision, since we got upgraded information telling us it’s a summer wedding and because camping, they do all year round, and snowboarding is just a winter thing. So snowboard is not quite proper for this circumstance.
